The accusation brought the issue of academic integrity and the importance of accurately citing sources in our research into a clear view. As a scholar, you are responsible for ensuring that everything you write is your original work or correctly attributed to whoever wrote it.

Instructions

This assignment asks you to examine the Claudine Gay accusation as a case study. After reading the two required readings for the week, you will write a paper explaining the academic integrity issue she was accused of. You will determine whether or not you feel the accusation was justified, or not, and then you will support your opinion with research on academic integrity.

Your paper should address the following questions:

  • How could she have avoided this accusation?
  • How can you avoid this kind of accusation in your scholarly writing?
