Signature Assignment Description/Directions:

Write a 1750-2000 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least five (5) sources in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count toward the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

For your signature assignment, you will select a real-world organization or create a hypothetical one to analyze its ethical practices, challenges, and opportunities. Using the frameworks and principles discussed in the course, evaluate the organization’s approach to ethics and recommend strategies to strengthen its ethical culture, policies, and global compliance.

This assignment will be organized in four (4) parts.

Part 1 Organizational Analysis

  • For this assignment, begin with an organizational analysis by providing a detailed overview of the selected organization, including its industry, size, geographic presence, and mission.
  • Identify the major stakeholders impacted by the organizations ethical decisions and outline at least three significant ethical challenges it faces.
  • Relate these challenges to course topics such as whistleblowing, corporate social responsibility, global business ethics, or employee privacy.

Part 2 Evaluation of Current Practices

  • Next, evaluate the organizations current ethical practices, focusing on its use of established frameworks like the UN Global Compact, OECD guidelines, or FCPA compliance.
  • Identify any gaps or shortcomings in these practices and assess the organizations ethical policies, including its code of ethics, whistle-blowing mechanisms, and employee training programs.
  • Determine whether the organization adopts a proactive or reactive approach to ethics and analyze the cultural and global factors influencing its practices, such as ethical relativism, transparency, or compliance issues.

Part 3 Ethics Policy Development

  • Finally, develop a comprehensive ethics policy to address the identified challenges and gaps.
    • Include components such as corporate governance structure, policies for whistle-blowers and transparency, provisions for global ethical standards and compliance, and measures to mitigate vicarious liability.

Part 4 Implementation Strategies

  • Conclude with implementation strategies, outlining methods for monitoring, enforcement, and fostering employee engagement to build a culture of integrity.
