While many parents and teachers may have used some variant of the differential reinforcement method to decrease problem behavior in children, their measure of success might have improved if they fully understood the underlying principles of what makes this method of decreasing problem behavior effective.
For this Discussion, you will consider how differential reinforcement works to change behavior. In addition, you will identify current literature to support the use of differential reinforcement.
