Purpose

This assignment establishes the foundational analysis and solution design for your capstone project by having your team thoroughly analyze a client’s business problem, conduct comprehensive stakeholder and requirements analysis, and develop an integrated solution architecture. You will create a formal business case proposal that demonstrates your understanding of the client’s current state and proposed technological solutions as a SETA contractor.

Understanding the Scenario (Together):

  • Read the provided business case , , and documents carefully as a team. These are your requirements documents and will be used as your evaluation criteria. The rubrics are a summary of these source documents.
  • Discuss the organization’s situation to ensure shared understanding.
  • Identify the main business challenges that need to be addressed in this Unit 1.
  • Consider your role as a SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Assistance) contractor.

Business Analysis (Divide and Conquer):

  • Analyze the organization’s current situation:
    • Document current business processes step-by-step.
    • Map information flows between departments.
    • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or pain points.
    • Determine where technology could improve operations.
  • Stakeholder analysis:
    • List all stakeholders affected by the current situation.
    • Document their specific needs and concerns.
    • Consider conflicting requirements between stakeholders.
