You will research a specific case or law from the legal history of EL education and create a visual aid to share your learnings with classmates. The visual aid must be self created, such as a poster, chart, or pictorial (see examples below).
- Purpose
- By completing your research and reviewing classmates’ projects, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal history of EL education.

DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Choose one of the topics below:
- Lau v. Nichols
- Castaneda v. Pickard
- Flores v. Arizona
- Plyler v. Doe
- ESSA
- Title III
- Title VI

- HB 2064
- SB 1014
Step 2: Research your topic using at least two sources. Your sources should be credible and objective. If one of your sources seems very politically biased, try to find an additional source that comes from the opposite perspective.
Step 3: Create a visual aid to accompany your presentation. Think about visual aids that would be (i.e. , , )
Step 4: Post your visual in the discussion post.
Step 6: View your classmates’ visuals, and consider how the other topics connect to the one you studied. Comment on images posted by 2 classmates who researched a topic different from yours.
