First things first, go to the literature and learn about your topic area. That is what background questions are to help you do. You can find specific questions you need to answer for your scenario in the list of Scenarios. (This is so your PICOT makes sense and is ethically doable in the clinical setting).
Use this discussion to improve and refine your PICOT. Faculty and Classmate will review & provide suggestions. I recommend you post early so you can get feedback.
- Post a draft(s) of your PICOT Question, including (P), (I), (C), (O), (T) designation for class member and faculty review in the Discussion Board.
- Be sure to use p.45 of Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt (2023) text to get the correct order and wording from the templates in Box 2.2.
- Students and faculty will provide feedback regarding clarity of the question for format improvement.
- Improve the PICOT Question and repost for additional feedback.
- Use the Assignment tab to submit the final version of your PICOT question for Faculty approval.
- Find & upload pdfs of 4 articles (see Evidence Synthesis Table assignment) to help you demonstrate that there is existing evidence to support your answering your Final PICOT.
