Respiratory Drugs Presentation Project
You have been assigned to a topic related to a respiratory group of medications. Refer to Chapter 11 in your D2L content or respiratory drugs therapeutic class of drug cards (red and rust-colored). I also encourage you to do outside research for your presentations, including consultation of a pharmacist at a local community pharmacy for their recommendations on specific respiratory drug categories as listed below. You may submit a video, power-point slide with voiceovers, or another presentation-style project to the dropbox. Each participant must record their voice overs for their portion of the project.
You must complete your project (worth 95 points), a partner evaluation (worth 2.5 points), and evaluate one other students project (worth 2.5 pts) for full credit. The project you evaluate must be a different topic from your project. This evaluation adds a learner-benefited exposure to additional areas of content for your respiratory drugs.
You must present the following information for your respiratory project (worth 95 pts):
- Background on the disease and/or symptoms assigned.
- The various types of dosage forms available for your respiratory group of medications.
- The advantages and disadvantages of the various dosage forms.
- If a drug is controlled, indicate to which scheduled control group the medication(s) belongs.
- Special precautions of which the patient should be aware, such as possible contraindications, allergy alerts, and or food interactions.
- If medications within your group are also available OTC you must include pictures and prices contrasting options available for patients and the various price points of options (example, brand name Robitussin DM and its price vs. store brand/generic equivalent OTC to Robitussin DM).
- Be sure to include the medications from your Siglers Drug Cards relevant to each respiratory group!
- You may choose the type of presentation for your information (YouTube, Prezi, Canva, WebEx, etc.), but your project MUST include your voice in the presentation for full credit. Ten points are automatically deducted if there is no audio voice recording of presented information.
- You must include documentation for all your information. Be sure to include your sources.
