What is organizational governance, and how must oversight bodies (e.g., Board of Directors, Senior Management Councils) act appropriately to protect the interests of the organization?
What are the various roles at play in the Institute of Internal Auditors Three Lines Model for organizational governance (i.e., front – line supervisors, risk and legal functions, internal auditors, external auditors, and oversight bodies), and how do they function?
In addition, reflect on and describe the relationship between the material considered in this lesson and your own agency or work experience. How would you apply internal control and risk management practices, and what would be there effect on your own agency’s performance and budget submissions?
