In cosmology, the universe is thought to have begun with the Big Bang about 13.8 billion years ago. If we run the universes expansion backward in time using the equations of General Relativity, everything seems to compress into an extremely tiny point called the Gravitational Singularity.

What that singularity means

A gravitational singularity is a theoretical state where:

  • Density becomes extremely large (mathematically infinite)
  • Temperature becomes extremely high
  • Space and time are compressed into a very tiny region
